Ole Hombre, so far the best Halloween show is this girl at work who dressed up as Bad Brittany, complete with shaved head and all. If I'd a known, I woulda put on my K-Fed outfit. But since it's duck season, I dressed up as Elmer Fudd.

Best Halloween show? Without a doubt (for me at least) http://www.archive.org/details/gd79-10-31.sbd.miller.29410.sbeok.flacf

One of the best shakedowns you'll ever hear.

That's a top 3 Shakedown for me! I'll have to listen to the rest of the show...

Well, for sheer novelty, I have always liked the Werewolves from 10.31.85. The first played since 1978 and first Halloween appearance. Garcia flubs many of the lyrics and it is not as tight as the '78'ers. The best part is Phil's maniacal laughter on Spooky Space that preceeds it. I'm sure this combo put a few Heads over the edge that night, especially with Healy's antics.

The sound is best on the Charlie Miller matrix:

Here is my favorite Werewolves. Used to hear it all the time growing up in Philly.

if garcia's voice wasn't shot I'd say 1990 in Wembley. The first set is looooong.

Best Halloween show for me was the only one I attended, 10.31.83 at the Marin Civic Center with the final St. Stephen. I actually didn't get inside but heard it through the doors. It was quite a scene in the parking lot as many didn't get in; it's a small venue. So there was as much of a party outside as there was inside, harvest time and all that. Lots of stinky green wafting through the air. We had bottles of San Pedro cactus juice we were passing around. Then some guy came by with "strings". We all wondered what these things were. Turns out these were strings that were used to tie sheets together and dip the sheets into the goods. So we cut off various lengths of strands and had a great time. It was really cool in that you didn't really know what your dose was...until later. Whew!

The second set from this show is really amazing and worth a listen. The AUD version is really nice: http://www.archive.org/details/gd83-10-31.horvath-nak.ladner.19894.sbeok.shnf

Strings was most likely a Veteran and you were in the wrong parking lot. Too much Catus Cooler
